100 vs 120 Inch Projector Screen for UST

A 120-inch image is meaningfully larger than 100 inches, but it also demands more wall, more projector output and different placement geometry.

At the same 16:9 aspect ratio, moving from 100 to 120 inches increases both width and height—not just the diagonal. That affects furniture, speaker placement, the projector's distance from the wall and how much of your field of view the image occupies.

100 inches usually wins on flexibility

It is easier to fit above a cabinet, easier to illuminate brightly with a given projector, and often easier to integrate into apartments or smaller living rooms.

120 inches usually wins on immersion

If the room and seating support it, 120 inches can make the UST system feel more distinct from a large television. But the room has to absorb the extra width without compromising speakers or walkways.

Test the outline before ordering

Use painter's tape to mark the approximate image rectangle on the wall. Sit in your real seats. Check subtitles, sports scoreboards and game HUDs—not just cinematic scenes.

Check the projector geometry again

UST placement changes with image size. Confirm the exact required distance and height for your model before you mount a fixed frame.
