Measure the wall first
Account for the outer frame, nearby doors, speakers, cabinets and the vertical space between the screen and furniture. The image diagonal is not the same as the full physical width of the installed product.
Check the projector's placement chart
UST projectors can require specific distances from the wall and specific heights below the image for each screen size. A move from 100 to 120 inches can change both dimensions enough to affect furniture and mounting.
Use viewing distance as a comfort check
A wide field of view can feel cinematic, but text-heavy content, gaming interfaces and sports viewing may feel different from movies. Use your actual seating distance rather than copying someone else's setup.
Remember brightness density
The same projector output spread across a larger screen produces lower brightness per unit area. In a room with ambient light, that can matter more than it does in a dark theater.
